According to the San Jose Mercury News, Lady Gaga paid special tribute to San Francisco during her “Mayhem Ball” world tour stop at the city’s Chase Center last year.
She recalled her early days as a 19-year-old performer, noting how quickly she gained recognition while playing in Bay Area clubs. “I was performing in clubs all over the world, and in some places, people just didn’t get me,” she said. “Some liked my songs but thought I was just… quirky. But here in the Bay Area, I wasn’t just accepted—I was embraced with open arms.”
